What are some of the ways to get website traffic?

You could use directory submission services to get your website out there.  You could use AdWords to get some website traffic.  There’s forum signatures that you can use.  You can purchase traffic at one of many websites that offer that service.  You could provide a really useful web tool of some kind and entice people to come and check it out.  And, you can provide good content that people will search and want to read.

There are many ways to get your website noticed.  We all want attention and it’s tough, sometimes, to get the attention of web surfers.  So, what can you do?

You can submit your websites to a premium web directory.  You can have someone blog about your websites.  You can blog about your own websites.  You can also put your websites in your signature at webmaster forums that you visit.

These are all great ways to get your websites in front of people.

What is your search engine marketing plan?

I’m curious.  Do you use the information gathered from forums for marketing your website(s)?  Do you utilize PPC search?  Link building campaigns and other SEO techniques would certainly rank high on the list of choices.  Do you buy links or bait them?  Which marketing methods do you prefer to bring search engine traffic to your website?  How do you get traffic that is not from the search engines?

Please post in the comments if you care to reveal a secret or two.  :)

V7N has started a new contextual advertising service.  Advertisers buy V7N blog links and then V7N goes out and gets contextually relevant links for their advertisers in the form of blog posts.  Anyone can buy a link in a directory, but a link within a blog post is better because it is contextually relevant.  The text surrounding the link is on topic with the link and we all know that search engines value these links higher than some random link placed on a page somewhere.

Contextual linking is where it’s at.  Get with the times and start building your linking campaigns around contextual links.
