It’s election time again in Canada. It seems as though we were just at the polls. Oh! Wait a minute… We were! My prediction for the outcome of the election is another Liberal government. I don’t know yet, whether it will be a majority or another minority government. I sure hope that I’m wrong about that, but something tells me that Canadians (collectively) really ARE just THAT STUPID!
Paul Martin has done his best to scare the living shit out of Canadians who would be thinking about voting for the Conservative party. He has just continued in his predecessor’s footsteps. It seems to have worked so well to date. Why mess with a good thing, eh Paul? My buddy Paul would have you believe that he knew nothing about the $100 million that “mysteriously” went missing in the sponsorship scandal. We’re all supposed to forget that Paul Martin was the finance minister when the money went missing. His job was to sign the cheques. That leaves us with only 2 possibilities.
1) He knew that the money was being stolen from Canadian taxpayers. If this is the case, then he is a thief!
2) He didn’t know that the money was being stolen from Canadian taxpayers. If this is the case, then he is the most incompetent finance minister in the history of Canada!
In either case, I really have to wonder why Canadians were stupid enough to give them another government!?!?!?!?!?! After that, it’s no wonder the Liberals are smug and feel like they’re invincible. THEY ARE!!!
Harper should have realized that the country was afraid to vote for him and stepped aside for MacKay for the good of his party and the good of the country. His quest for power has cost us all dearly. Do I think the next elected Conservative leader would do a better job of running our country? No. Absolutely not! They are, after all, politicians. But, at least a Conservative majority would sideline the Liberals for 5 years. That might, at least, give them some time to think about just how invincible they aren’t. It would certainly look good on them.
The NDP is a joke! They have as much chance of capturing the leadership as I have of winning the lottery. (I still buy my 6/49 tickets, though! - Always hoping for the big score!) I think I like the idea of Jack Layton heading up the party. But, again, they ARE the NDP. They haven’t a hope in hell of winning a federal election.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of politicians are corrupt and care only about themselves. Your MP doesn’t really care about you. The MPs of the ruling party don’t really care about the country. The MPs of the opposition don’t really care that the MPs of the ruling party don’t really care about the country. Most unfortunately, this election will end up like all others because we only have a choice between ASSHOLE #1, ASSHOLE #2 or ASSHOLE #3! If you happen to live in the “country” of Quebec, then you can also choose ASSHOLE #4.

This country NEEDS honesty, leadership and real patriotism in its leadership before we’re ever going to be the great country we are capable of being. Until that happens, give me a break. And, to our “great” leaders, Canadians are sick and tired of the same old bullshit.

Smarten up! We deserve better!

Hey dumbass. So the Liberals cost the taxpaer’s $100 million in misappropriated funds during the sponsorship scandal? Well guess what? Even if they had just jammed the entire $250 million in the program into their pockets, it will still be shy of the $277 million fucking dollars that an election costs. I also like how you seem to know exactly how the federal government works when the Gomery inquiry cleared Paul Martin of any wrong doing. Yeah, he might have known something was up, but guess what, GOVERNMENT’S WASTE A LOT OF FUCKING MONEY. Doesn’t matter if you’re liberal or conservative, a shitload of money is going down the toilet. But to spend a quarter of a billion dollars to end up in the same fucking situation seems like a much worse way to spend it.

I disagree. I think the Liberals have been in power far too long and they are arrogant because of it. Imagine telling Canadians that we have 2 choices on election day. Paul Martin is arrogant and so is the rest of his party.
You also forgot another important point. Votes of non-confidence are part of our electoral process. Stealing $100 million isn’t! It wasn’t “wasted”. It was STOLEN! You are the dumbass for getting robbed and asking the thief to take some more. How stupid is that?
The point of the blog entry, if you had actually read it before commenting, was to say that ALL politicians are terrible. We really deserve a lot better.

I think the Liberals have done a great job with our economy. Our job rates are up, our dollar compared to the US is up, and we are not in deficit anymore. Frankly speaking, I know there is not a log of choices…but then again, does any election have the “perfect” candidate? Out of the 4 we have to choose from, the Liberals is the best one. Just some short examples:

The Block wants to separate our country even though they take the benefits that Canada provides to them.
The NDP LOVES the unions…ever wonder why our Telephone bills, air plane tickets, utilities, transit etc… are so high? Because the unions can hold us at random and the NDP will do whatever they can to help them do this. Heck I don’t have job security…The only job security I have is the fact I work hard. I’ve been to a few clients that are unionized…let me tell you…you DO NOT do anything extra there…it’s not that they don’t want to, it’s because of “job security”
The conservatives…well for a their leader to say right off the bat that gays do not have the right as the rest of us ‘normal people’ is just plain wrong! To me, that is just an uneducated statement. I will not vote for a bigot!

So that leaves the Liberals…sure the past LIBERAL PARTY ’stole’ some money, but that is the old party…its ‘under new management’ The bottom line is that the liberals bring in big business and with big business, there is more jobs and therefore more money for you and me in return pay more taxes to pay things like health care.

The other parties have promised extreme health care spending, which is good, but one question…where are they going to get the money from??? From the tax paying citizens like you and me, and if they don’t have enough, they up the taxes or create new ones. This in turn will force more people to seek to live else where, which in turn will force higher taxes because now there are less people….well you get the idea.

That “new management” you refer to is the same guy who signed the cheques that went to his buddies. Wake UP! The stupidity of people like you amazes me. The guy stole your money and you want him to do it again! What kind of lesson do you think the Liberals are going to learn from getting voted in again? You stole from us, but that’s OK. Please do it again.

No thanks. Not for me. It’s time for a change.
